Established in 1993, our casual hotel is family-built, owned and operated.  Conveniently located on Parkway Avenue, you will find our location has easy access to the Root River State Trail and is within walking distance to the Commonweal Theatre Company, multiple restaurants and bars, retail shops, the city park, and the Root River!

Open most of the year, the family and group-friendly Cottage House Inn has 13 standard hotel rooms and two apartment suites. Our public spaces include our coffee room where coffee and tea are served all day, our inviting lobby and our meeting room with the capacity to seat 36+ people.  The Cottage House Inn makes you feel at home with our clean and comfortable rooms, relaxing front porch and warm hospitality.  We are proud to be your Inn when you’re out.

Happy New Year!  2024 was a year of an extremely mild winter, then lots of rain in May and June, then no rain in July through September, then a little bit of winter again to close out the year.  2024 was also a year of hosting our wonderful guests, new and return, from near and far.  It is always a pleasure to be your "Inn When You're Out" when you visit Lanesboro...

Happy Halloween from Lanesboro!  A year ago, we had about 5" of wet, heavy snow which caused school to be cancelled and left everyone guessing how should we trick-or-treat?  Too many of us had blocked the memories of Halloween 1991 or other past wintery Halloweens, so we were in a panic.  But, kids got to trick-or-treat on October 31 and November 1 - they were happy!...
