Welcome to the Cottage House Inn and beautiful downtown Lanesboro! Established in 1993, our casual hotel is family-built, owned and operated. Conveniently located on Parkway Avenue, you will find our location has easy access to the Root River State Trail and is within walking distance to the Commonweal Theatre Company, multiple restaurants and bars, retail shops, the city park, and the Root River!
Open most of the year, the family and group-friendly Cottage House Inn has 13 standard hotel rooms and two apartment suites. Our public spaces include our coffee room where coffee and tea are served all day, our inviting lobby and our meeting room with the capacity to seat 36+ people. The Cottage House Inn makes you feel at home with our clean and comfortable rooms, relaxing front porch and warm hospitality. We are proud to be your Inn when you’re out.
There is road work from approximately July 11-August 13 at US Hwy-52 and I-90, south of Rochester. Please plan your travel from north of Rochester accordingly.
Our 13 comfortable rooms and two one-bedroom apartment suites are family and group-friendly. Rooms feature Queen beds, fiber Wi-Fi internet and a private bath. We have a locked bike storage shed and off-street parking. Some rooms have keypad entries for self-check-in.

Lanesboro is situated on the Root River State Trail, a paved trail system that connects bikers, hikers, in-line skaters, and cross-country skiers to 60 miles of trails when connected with the Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail. Find excellent hiking trails at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center and Isinours State Forest. The Root River is the perfect place to cool off on a hot day by kayaking, canoeing or tubing, and there are renowned spring-fed streams to fly fish or reel in an elusive trout.
Our small but mighty town hosts over 15 events and festivals each year, including the Rhubarb Festival, Buffalo Bill Days, Art in the Park, Experience the Magic of Lanesboro, and much more. The Commonweal Theatre Company is our live, professional theatre that performs multiple plays each year transporting patrons to another place and time through its rich artistry and storytelling. Lanesboro Arts is home to a premier art gallery and hosts various musicians and the live radio show, Over the Back Fence, at their St. Mane Theatre.
