Lanesboro Events

Every year for the last five or so we come down for the Bluff Country Studio Art Tour and consider ourselves very lucky when we can snag a room at the Inn! The room is warm, simple and inviting. We love it here. Despite cold, rainy weather, we enjoyed driving through the bluff country and seeing wonderful art, eating good food, and attending plays at the Commonweal. This is my favorite place in Minnesota. We will be back. Thanks for everything!Sarah & Bill, Minneapolis

Lanesboro has several unique events held annually.  Here is a brief description.

Rhubarb Festival

Lanesboro is Minnesota’s Rhubarb Capital, and what better way to celebrate that honor than by hosting an annual Rhubarb Festival.  Every first Saturday in June, one can visit Sylvan Park to attend the Rhubarb Festival and taste a variety of rhubarb treats, see entries into the biggest rhubarb leaf contest, hear live music by the Rhubarb Sisters, and more.

Art in the Park

Lanesboro Arts has been hosting its annual Art in the Park Fair for over 40 years.  Always the Saturday before Father’s Day, one can visit Sylvan Park to view artist’s booths, eat delicious food, hear live music, and partake in kid-friendly activities.  Art in the Park provides the opportunity to witness a variety of amazing art and experience fun for the whole family.

Buffalo Bill DaysBuffalo Bill Days

Lanesboro’s annual festival is an ode to Buffalo Bill Cody who visited Lanesboro and got the idea to start his Wild West shows.  Buffalo Bill Days consists of softball and sand volleyball tournaments, a street dance, fireworks, and a fantastic Sunday parade.

To view a complete list of all of the events happening in Lanesboro and Whalan throughout the year, please visit the Lanesboro Area Chamber of Commerce calendar.

Fall Into Lanesboro

On the first Saturday in October, Fall Into Lanesboro brings family fun into town.  With mini-pumpkin painting, downtown scavenger hunt, horse-drawn wagon rides, live music, and more, there is plenty to do for all ages.  Get into that cozy feeling of Fall by visiting Lanesboro when the leaves are changing into those brilliant and bright colors.
