Welcome to the Cottage House Inn and beautiful downtown Lanesboro! Established in 1993, our casual hotel is family-built, owned and operated.  Conveniently located on Parkway Avenue, you will find our location has easy access to the Root River State Trail and is within walking distance to the Commonweal Theatre Company, multiple restaurants and bars, retail shops, the city park, and the Root River!

Open most of the year, the family and group-friendly Cottage House Inn has 13 standard hotel rooms and two apartment suites. Our public spaces include our coffee room where coffee and tea are served all day, our inviting lobby and our meeting room with the capacity to seat 36+ people.  The Cottage House Inn makes you feel at home with our clean and comfortable rooms, relaxing front porch and warm hospitality.  We are proud to be your Inn when you’re out.

There is road work from approximately July 11-August 13 at US Hwy-52 and I-90, south of Rochester.  Please plan your travel from north of Rochester accordingly.

No ice, no snow, no problem – still lots to do or not do (just relax!) this winter in Lanesboro/Whalan!

Recent national headlines have featured the many necessary ice rescues on northern Minnesota lakes - this warmer winter means our lake ice just isn't ready for one of Minnesota's favorite pasttimes - ice fishing.  The lack of snow and ice is not good for our northern Minnesota tourism businesses and visitors, as snowmobilers, dog sledders, skiiers, and other outdoor recreation...
