Check-in is any time after 3:00 p.m. and check-out is by 11:00 a.m.  Our lobby is typically staffed 9am-4:30pm with extended hours on the weekends.  There will be no daily in-room housekeeping services, but our staff are ready to meet your requests for extra towels, etc., and take your trash/recycling when left outside your room door by 12pm.

Check-In Procedure: All rooms have electronic keypad locks, and you will be emailed and texted your room code two days prior to arrival.  You can utilize this information for a self check-in, or you can still check-in at the front desk during office hours. Please look for your reservation reminder email one week prior to arrival with exact arrival instructions.

Occupancy Policy: All rates are based on 1-2 adults per room. There is a $25.00 fee per night for each additional person 16 years of age and older (limit four people per room). Children are welcome, and up to two children age 15 and under may stay free when accompanied by an adult.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel and it is less than 48 hours before your stay, there will be a $50.00 cancellation fee. Please call if you need to cancel during this time period.

Payment:  A credit card holds the reservation and is required at the time of making a reservation. Guests can pay any method during their stay, or a credit card on file will be charged at check-out time.  Receipts will be emailed unless you request a hard copy. All rates are subject to change, and Minnesota sales tax (7.875%) and Lanesboro lodging tax (3%) will be applied to the room rate.

Room Damage/Missing Items/Excessive Cleaning: If rooms are damaged or left extremely dirty during a stay, guests will be charged the amount it costs to replace the damaged item plus $50.00/hour labor fees to return the room to its original state. This includes missing/damaged items and furniture. We do not allow bicycles in the rooms, and locked bike storage is available.

Smoking, e-cigarettes, water pipes, candles: For the comfort and safety of our guests, the Cottage House Inn is an entirely smoke-free building. Smoking is only permitted outside on our decks. Violation of this policy will result in a $200.00 charge if any type of smoking or burning candles in the rooms occurs while in the hotel.

Pets: No pets are allowed with the exception of service animals. Unauthorized pets in a room will result in a $200.00/day cleaning fee. As of August 1, 2018, it is against the law in Minnesota to misrepresent an animal as a service animal and is punishable by fines and/or jail time. The first offense is a petty misdemeanor (punishable by a fine of up to $300); subsequent offenses are misdemeanors (punishable by up to 90 days in jail or a fine of up to $1,000 or both). An emotional support animal is not a service animal, and their owners may be liable under this law. Minnesota statute 609.83.
