Breweries, Distilleries, & Wineries

After a day on the trail or river, quench your thirst at a local Southeastern MN brewery, distillery, or winery that uses local grains.

A Gratitude Limerick - My stay at the Cottage House Inn located in Lanesboro, MN, had charms to delight both day and at night. I surely will come here again!Vonda, Blaine, MN

Harmony Distillery

You can bike or drive over to Harmony to visit Harmony Spirits, a local distillery that produces such spirits as vodka, bourbon whiskey, rum and more.  The distillery uses local grains from the owner’s and investors’ farms.  They often host fun events like classic car shows and live music, so be sure to put Harmony on your list to visit.

Karst Brewing

In the sinkhole capital of the U.S., Fountain, you will find Karst Brewing, named after the geological term to describe our region.  After biking up out of the valley to get to Fountain, what better way to congratulate yourself than enjoy a brew from Karst on their patio or in their new indoor seating area.  Food trucks often come to the brewery, so be sure to check their website.

Sylvan Brewing

Sylvan Brewing is Lanesboro’s newest (opened in 2020) and only brewery, located in the north part of downtown just off the main drag, Parkway Avenue (and next door to the Cottage House!).  Its home is an old granary building, which houses all of the beer making equipment with room for comfortable seating indoors and out or curbside service to take home a growler.  Check their website and social media for events like "Jokes on Tap" and game nights.  New in 2023 - Driftless Trading Post is providing their farm to table meals from a permanent food trailer on site.  Enjoy this local and delicious food while you sip on a local brew!  There will also be live music each Sunday early evening in the summer.
